Kathy Myers: Lakewood, CA, United States; I have been a professional teddy bear artist since 1988. I specialize in creating teddy bears and other animals from vintage mink stoles, coats, and collars. My creations have appeared in several books and magazines. I feel honored to say that over the past two decades my work has appeared, and continues be featured, in Teddy Bear Review magazine and Teddy Bear and Friends magazine. When you purchase my artwork (teddy bears and other animals, polymer sculptures, fabric or leather artwork, etc.) you are purchasing ONLY the physical item. I retain ALL copyright on my artwork. By purchasing my art you purchase only the right to display the work privately. You may NOT reproduce or sell copies of my work. Please do not use my work commercially without my permission.

Why am I posting something that to most reasonable collectors seems to be obvious? Because I have had a person buy one of my teddies and the next thing I knew she was offering an obvious copy of my work on eBay ... not only that but she also "stole" my auction layout, even the wording of my auctions, she used an eBay ID almost identical to mine. She even had the nerve to use the photo of the mink panda that she purchase from me as her online identity. When I contacted her to let her know that what she was doing was wrong ... her only response to me was that she didn't see anything wrong with what she was doing since she had purchased the panda from me. I had to threaten her with legal action to get her to finally stop stealing my artistic copyright and my identity. So, yes, it happens. There are people that will purchase one item from an artist and then they think they have the right to steal (by copying) that artist's work and identity ... that is stealing.
