Mink Mouse in a Vintage Tin

I'm getting more requests for my mice. I'm so happy that so many of my collectors are loving my mice as much as I do.

This mouse was made by Special Request and will be offered directly to that collector.

"Zapata" (large OOAK teddy)

I try to make a One Of A Kind creation to offer to all of the collectors on my General Mailing List several times a year, usually either to celebrate a holiday or the change of seasons. I created this teddy to celebrate the first day of summer and also to celebrate the first time my work will appear in the UK magazine Teddy Bear Times (Aug/Sept issue, available July 19). Hooray!!!

This is Zapata who is a rare very large teddy for me at 12 inches (30.5cm).  I have not made a mink teddy this large in about a year. She is a beautiful beige / light tan mink. She is wearing a rhinestone shoe necklace and she has a collectible shoe. The theme for this teddy is "You can't have too many shoes. You can't have too many teddy bears. You can't be too happy".

I have also taken her photo with one of my mink mice to show the size comparison. As you can see from the photo one of my mink mice will make a wonderful companion for her.

You can see more details and photos of this teddy on my Adoption Website.

Teddy Bear Times-next issue

It has been verified that my Artist Profile will be in the next "Teddy Bear Times" issue. That will be the Aug/Sept issue and will go on sale July 19. This UK magazine is available both in print or online: www.hobbyworld.tv or www.teddybeartimes.com

I was totally surprised and delighted to be invited to be a part of this issue.

If you missed my earlier blog.... I will again share the photos that I sent to TBT:

I know who some of these belong to but I would have to do some research to find where all of them are living. Do you recognize any of these as yours? Of course, they will not publish all of the photos that I sent them. But if you recognize any of these as yours then you may want to locate a copy of the magazine next month to see if your creation was actually published.

Check my Adoption Website tomorrow (Saturday June 26) at 10am PT ... I will be posting a One Of A Kind 12 inch beige mink teddy that will be available for immediate adoption

First Baby Mouse

I am pleased to introduce my first baby mouse. It is one inch smaller than my other mouse.
To see more photos please go to my Adoption Website (Waiting List page).

I will be offering this first baby to a collector on my Mouse Waiting List. If you would like to be added to this Waiting List any or my other Waiting Lists (examples of all my work on my Gallery Website), please send me an email and let me know. You will find links to my contact information and both my Gallery Website and my Adoption Webite on this page.

Custom Order ... Twin Teddy Bears

This is an example of my Custom Teddy Bears, created from a collector's heirloom fur stole.

These twins were created from a non-mink fur. I prefer to use only mink but, as you can see, this fur was similar enough to the look of mink that it made two lovely teddies.

Good news !!!

First I want to thank everyone who attended last weekend's online show. Both my teddy and my mouse found new loving homes as soon as the show opened.

Now for the good news: at the beginning of this week I was contacted by Teddy Bear Times (the UK magazine) and they asked if I would be interested in them doing a feature article on my work. Well, of course, I jumped at the chance before they changed their minds. So all this week I worked on the questionnaire that I was sent and chose photos to send them.

I know that some of you were waiting to see the bears and mouse that I had promised would be finished soon ... but I was derailed for a very good reason. Now I've sent in everything that Teddy Bear Times had requested and I'm back on track with my work.

These are the photos that I sent to the magazine. Of course, the magazine will only choose a few to publish but if you recognize any of these as one that may be living with you then you may want to check the issue that my bears will in to see if they chose yours to be published.

The article may be in the next issue of Teddy Bear Times. I actually don't subscribe so I will have to make sure that they send me a copy and when they do I will scan my article and post here on  my Blog.

On my work table this week .....

First ... before I show you what I am working on this week, I want to remind you that the Who is Who in Bear Making online show is this coming weekend (June 9 and 10).

Don't forget to VOTE for my baby mink polar bear as "Show Favorite"
(you need to vote before June 9)
www.whoiswho-in-bearmaking.com

Now this is what is on my work table this week:

Usually I just work on one item at a time but currently I have two that I am working on:

I am working on a Custom Order....

I am using a collector's heirloom fur stole (not mink) to create 2 special teddies.  Even though it is NOT mink I think that it is looking good so far!

For the pattern I decided to use my favorite larger Polar Bear pattern (11.5 inches). The fur had a beautiful lining and I will use that for the paw pads. This is one of my favorite patterns because I love it when my teddies can sit like puppy dogs.
And what is that behind the Custom Teddy head???
It's  my "to go" (cigar) craft box with my first baby mouse (in pieces)!
My daughter is on a new medication which affects her eyesight so she can't drive. So whenever she needs Mommy-Taxi I just grab my Craft Box with my baby mouse pieces so I can work on it when I am waiting for my daughter to finish her errands or doctor's appointment. She has to take this medication for 12 weeks ... so I will probably get this mouse finished eventually ...  while "on the go".

Why a baby mouse? My regular mouse stands about 5 inches while this baby will stand about 3 inches. I am making a baby mouse because I found 4 smaller cigar boxes at a rummage sale. Of course, as soon as I saw the boxes I knew I had to make baby mice to live in them. (you can see the cigar box in the first mouse photo above).

Well, that is what is on my work table right now. As soon as they are finished I will be posting them here on my blog.
